Before you go

Check every item on arrival and before each trip. Test the flashlight with the correct battery specified on the actual product; a battery is not included. Carry backup lighting, safe drinking water, first aid and weather-appropriate equipment.

Sharp tools

Keep blades and the wire saw covered when not in use. Keep hands clear of cutting edges, work away from your body and do not use damaged tools. Store securely away from children. The kit is not a toy.

Fire tools

Use only outdoors where fires are permitted. Keep sparks away from people, fuels and dry vegetation. Have water or appropriate extinguishing equipment available and fully extinguish any fire. Do not use fire-starting tools indoors.

Navigation and cord

Treat the small compass as a basic aid, not your only navigation method. Check it away from metal and electronics. Paracord and the bracelet are not certified for climbing, fall arrest or supporting a person.

Emergency blanket and maintenance

The blanket is a temporary aid and does not replace protective clothing or shelter. Keep it clear of flames. Clean and dry the tools after use, inspect for corrosion or damage and store the kit in a dry place.

Carry and transport

Knife and tool restrictions vary by location and carrier. Check the rules before carrying or travelling with the kit. We do not represent the kit as lawful to carry everywhere.
